The kindness of strangers

I was in the newsagent buying some PVA glue this morning, when I realised I didn't have any cash on me - and this lovely young guy says "let me get that for you". He was shocked himself that words had come out of his mouth, said he felt like doing something nice for someone.

It has left me with a real spring in my step, such a nice gesture. And I will absolutely pay it forward all day. Thanks Mr Nice Guy.

A shop called Moth

There is exactly one week until the opening of A shop called moth. It's the brainchild of Jocey Davidson. Moth is a beautiful new retail space in Bridport St, Albert Park selling women's fashion and jewellery from unique and exclusive labels such as Sachin and Babi, MiH Jeans, Chelsea Flower, Bishop of Seventh, Velvet by Graham & Spencer, Rachel Pally, Love Sam, Nougat, Ever, red engine, Pol and freepeople. A lot of you aussie girls may not have heard of these labels, but that will not stop you from falling head over heels. I was saying to Jocey today, it's like a the best dressed up womanly version of yourself you always wanted. Utterly beautiful items for everyday - and then show-stopping evening gear too. Watch out for the first window display featuring one heck of a special dress.

I have had the absolute pleasure of working with Joce over the past few months designing her shop for her, she's been such a fun and creative collaborator. Here's some sneek peeks of the interior fitout.

Oh and been brilliant to have my husband on the team, who has done the most incredible branding for Moth.

I really heart Hotel Basico, Mexico

There is so much to love about Hotel Basico in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico - not only was it the venue for the Double Dee's wedding, awash with colour, love and good times, but it is home to simple, honest and un-pretentious design and authentic Mexican food. I really, really heart you and will miss you Basico. x

Aeron chairs

It's always a pleasure to do business with John from Luke Furniture. Not only is he a walking encyclopedia of modern design but he is just a lovely guy. My latest acquisition was two Aeron Chairs by Herman Miller for a home office. Not only are these chairs good-looking, they are seriously comfortable. With a lightweight fabric seat, adaptable materials and maneuverable parts the Aeron chair virtually becomes a part of the person who uses it. It promotes correct posture and is a treat for the bod.

Market Lane update

A short breaking from travel-bragging, I mean blogging....
I had the pleasure of working again with the lovely Fleur Studd at Market Lane to design a shelving unit to house their growing number of goodies they offer to take home. Working together we came up this beauty, a large old, school grocery/market inspired shelving to show off the abundance of goods on offer at Market Lane.

Oh I love to be pool-side....Palm Springs style

Was it only a few days ago we where lounging by this pool in Palm Springs? A place so hot that all the streets are lined with pipes spraying a mist of cool water, a place too hot to sit still - and now we're fire-side at home. Definitely a case of post holiday blues.

Ace Hotel Palm Springs

Here's a teaser from my photos of the Ace Hotel, Palm Springs. I'll be posting a full review of the hotel (which we just completely fell in love with, it blew our expectations out of the water, so much so they we desperately tried to change flights to stay longer). Essentially it is an oasis of cool in the desert in Palm Springs.
L O V E D it.

Home

We are home from our adventures to Mexico and Palm Springs. I am trawling through our photos and trying to find that one that summarises everything, which is a tough call. So I'll be posting loads of photos of the trip over the next few weeks.
